How to Move Out of Your YourWay Storage Unit

The move-out process is simple and takes just three steps:

Empty and Clean Your Unit

Before moving out, make sure your storage unit is completely empty:

  • Remove all personal belongings (check every corner, shelf, and hook)
  • Sweep the unit clean (remove dirt, dust, and debris)
  • Remove any locks you've added (leave the unit unlocked)
  • Check for damage (notify us if you notice any issues)

Important: Units must be cleared and left in good condition to complete your move-out.

Step 2

Submit Your Move-Out Form

After your unit is fully cleared, complete our online Move-Out Form.

This form lets us:

  • Confirm your move-out date
  • Close your lease officially
  • Stop future billing
  • Send your final confirmation

CRITICAL: Your move-out is not complete until the form is submitted. If we don't receive your form, billing may continue for additional months.

What you'll need to complete the form:

  • Your account information (name, unit number)
  • Move-out date
  • Forwarding contact information (for final receipt)

The form takes under 3 minutes to complete.

Step 3

Receive Confirmation

Once we've reviewed your Move-Out Form, we will:

  • Process your move-out in our system
  • Stop all future billing immediately
  • Send a confirmation receipt to your email for your records
  • Contact you if we have questions or notice anything missing

You should receive confirmation within 24-48 hours of submitting your form.

If you don't receive confirmation within 2 business days, please contact your facility manager or call.

Once you submit the Move-Out Form and we process your move-out, billing stops immediately. However, if you submit your form after your billing date, you may be charged for the current billing period.

Do I get a refund if I move out mid-month?

YourWay Storage operates on a monthly billing cycle. If you move out mid-month after being charged, you can continue to access your unit through the end of that billing period, but partial month refunds are not provided.

What condition does my unit need to be in?

Your unit should be:
